SW ATLANTA WOMEN’S COALITION

WHO WE ARE:

The SW-Atlanta Women’s Coalition was founded by Rev., Dr. Canzada Twyman, who is the Founding Executive Director of the Divine Exchange Ministry, Inc., a IRS 501(c)3 veteran owned Faith-Based Community organization. Accompanied by the unwavering dedication of Coalition Members, and Supporters, on July 6, 2023, the SWAWC was successfully launched and implemented. We are a comprehensive, diverse group of dedicated women, striving to promote the awareness and well-being of women, girls, and families throughout marginalized communities.

WHAT WE DO:

We serve marginalized communities by enhancing community awareness and attitudes on challenges such as substance use, mental health, suicide prevention, domestic violence prevention, spiritual wellness and more.

WHY WE DO IT:

Serving the community can guide many people to personal growth and development. Thousands of people find that volunteering helps them develop new skills, gain experience, and broaden their perspectives. The Coalition believes involvement in the community fosters a sense of belonging and connectedness with others who share similar values. Additionally, we believe it’s our social responsibility, moral, and or ethical obligation to reach back and give back to our communities to equip others to RISE UP!

HOW WE DO IT:

Throughout the year, FREE professional ongoing awareness and prevention trainings are provided for community residents, adults, youth, and families. The trainings cover a multitude of topics, in which the community has suggested and or recommended.

WHERE:

The Coalition training space is located at the One Resource Family Center (OFRC) located at 5903 Stewart Pkwy., Douglasville, GA. 30135. However, we travel throughout marginalized communities, collaborating with local libraries, community organizations, and government agencies.
